I am a 30-year-old woman residing in Los Angeles, CA.  I have a great job, an amazing and devilishly handsome boyfriend, wonderful family, and awesome friends.  I also have an ornery, ancient cat named Basil.  He’d say hello to you, if he didn’t find you so boring.

I am also living with acquired severe Aplastic Anemia, a shitty disease that causes bone marrow failure. After my diagnosis in January 2011, I searched the internet for a positive, but realistic account of AA from the patient’s perspective.  There are a few sites out there, but I found them a bit overwhelming.  After complaining to anyone who would listen, I finally decided to put up or shut up and start my own journal.  So welcome readers!  I hope this site proves to be a resource for AAers, their families and friends, and a source of hope for those who are just beginning the journey to wellness.
